With the day off I was in charge of tackling the snow that accumulated over night. A task not to simple.

I bundled up and put on my game face.

And my lion face.

Did I mention my boots are about four years old & not waterproof?

The snow removal took about two hours. I cleaned off my landlords car, shoveled her whole drive way, and got to chit chat with my neighbor across the street. A successful but very tiring day.

I'm a baking fool!! Just finished making Banana Bread, Banana Muffins, and Rice Krispies! In the oven now are Monster Cookies♥. Cleaning up the apartment & (PACKING!!) Rob will be home about 4:00 (ish) yayyyy! Work from 2:30-8:30(ish) then over to the Rents so Erin can cut Rob's hair :) [practice makes perfect] We leave tomorrow after I get out of work; and after Rob's text this morning (about how beautiful it is up north) i can't wait to hit the road!!

  Things You'll Need:

• 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbs. lt. brown sugar, packed
• 1/2 c. granulated sugar
• 6 Tbs. butter flavored vegetable shortening, like Crisco
• 2 eggs
• 3/4 c. peanut butter, I recommend smooth but you can use crunchy
• 1/2 Tbs. light corn syrup
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
• 2 1/4 c. quick oats
• 1/2 cup m&m's

1. Step 1
   Preheat oven to 350 F. If you have the convection feature, I highly recommend it.
   
2. Step 2
   Combine brown sugar, granulated sugar and shortening in mixing bowl and beat at medium speed until well blended.
   
3. Step 3
   Beat in eggs. Beat in peanut butter, corn syrup, baking soda and vanilla. Add oats, mixing on low speed. Stir in m&m's by hand.
   
4. Step 4
   Drop by teaspoon full onto an ungreased baking sheet. (I line with parchment, easier cleanup.)
   
5. Step 5
   Bake at 350 F for 11 to 13 minutes or until just beginning to brown. let cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes and then move to wire racks or sheets of foil to cool completely before storing.

it is a given that i miss rob. i can't even be in the other room without having to "visit." (which usually ends in him getting hurt in some way or another; i just get too excited to see him; and lose control) It was surprising refreshing to receive a reminder text saying "i miss you baby" today. i can't wait to see him tomorrow :) on another note: i'm in a baking mood!! banana nut bread sounds yummy! but since my banana's aren't over ripe yet, i'm thinking scones?!?

today i; cut out 40+ hearts & hung them from the ceiling with fishing line; cut out 9 hearts to make a banner to drape across the window and 20+ hearts to tape on the window. i ♥ valentines day (mostly for the pink/red hearts.) [and] took a longgg walk, snapped 24 pictures, & fell in love with (ONE) of the 24 [rob holding up a paper heart in the middle of the rail road tracks...] today was ... enjoyable.

I'm feeling quite horrible for my 20384702734807234 year old landlord who is shoveling the sidewalks while i'm curled up on the couch. Rob said "things like that keep her alive, when ever you help them out, they die." I like having Eleanor around, Keep up the good work! :)

Rob leaves for new york tomorrow; and when he returns i will have already left for chicago. so i'm surprising him with a cozy fort, dinner (update: Fajitas, Chips & Salsa are not the easiest thing to eat in a tiny fort), & movie time. i can't wait!

i found a solution to filling up our 8 foot; giant tree. i've been on a search for ornaments; a set of them; and have been unsuccessful. (apparently you can only buy one ornament at a time?) anyways; i remember in high school when my mom and i made gingerbread ornaments for my friends; and 4-5 years later they STILL smell amazing; {SO} tonight rob and i are making little ornaments to hang on our tree with our red & gold bulbs :)

UPDATE:i didn't realize how much i missed jessica until she and i got together yesterday. our christmas tree is still not up; but hopefully this weekend. we are still in need of ornaments. and the ones we made are still not decorated. i have tomorrow off of work; but will more than likely still go in to work. i officially have my own business cards :) thanks michele. i can't believe how fast this semester has gone; time to figure out what i'm going to do for the winter. still haven't decided if i'm going to take winter classes; i really want to pick up a second job. (hmmmmm)

our gingerbread ornaments are in the oven :) filling up the house with a yummy cinnamon smell. working on a little accounting homework then headed off to work. tonight; hopefully decorating our ornaments with glitter, paint, buttons, and whatever else i can find in my craft box. if these turn out i might make more and more and more onaments for our giant christmas tree.

a little preview of what i have to go through to get a good picture of rob and i. looking back on these pictures (from when we first moved in together) i couldn't help but laugh & shed a mini tear thinking about how excited and carefree we were. needless to say, number six has become one of my favorite pictures of us; laughing so hard i was snorting in his ear. enjoy. laugh. and imagine every photo shoot being like this.
